Quiet time gone nap time

We've been doing quiet time these last few weeks instead of nap time as it seems someone would consistently have trouble going to bed on time if he had a nap. So, quiet "reading" of books with the light on for a bit seemed to help with this.

Of course, this was bound to happen at some point....

The cost of a drawing

I came home to a three year old eager to give me a picture he had drawn for me. Later, at dinner, he asked, "mom, look at my hands- are they beautiful?"

Halloween fun!

We went to the Colorado Railroad Museum in costume (well, one of us) and got to ride on the oldest steam engine train in Colorado... and the conductor even gave us treats for Halloween!

Then there was pumpkin carving...

... which is always best followed by a dance party:
